Questions Asked and Answered

by Bravo Family Mortuary

  1. Do you have an onsite chapel? If not, can you please specify what you use?
Bravo Family Mortuary has multiple, well-appointed chapels, both large and small. Our smallest chapel is designed for 6-8 people. Our main chapel is absolutely beautiful and can accommodate over 200 guests. Our facility is among the largest in San Diego boasting over 15,000, fully modernized square feet and on-site parking in the heart of San Diego.
  2. Is your facility set up to handle a variety of religious services? Please elaborate if you wish.
Yes. We are a non-denominational facility and have held services for guests of virtually every religion. Each service is customized to meet the specific needs (and budget) of each family we serve. From Catholic and Buddhist ceremonies to Jewish, Mormon, Baha’i, Muslim, and other services, Bravo Family Mortuary can accommodate those of any or no religion.
  3. Do you offer an onsite crematorium?
No. Our crematorium is located in a separate facility.
  4. Do you have the ability to witness cremations?
Yes. We offer witness cremations for an additional charge
  5. Do you offer ID viewing?
Yes. We offer ID viewing. We refer to this as a ‘Final Farewell’. A Final Farewell allows up to 8 family members to spend up to 30 minutes with their loved one in a private setting before saying goodbye. This allows for closure either before the cremation or burial takes place.
  6. Do you work with all of the local cemeteries?
Yes. We work with all of the local cemeteries in San Diego County and have facilitated burials in Orange County, Los Angeles, and even as far away as Santa Barbara County.
  7. How much do you charge for transportation if you have to pick up outside of the County? Or is there a certain mileage limit? (2026 prices)
Transportation of your loved one is free for all pick-ups within 30 miles of our mortuary. Each mile beyond this distance is billed at $5 per loaded mile. There is no mileage limit, and we have brought loved ones into our care from locations as far north as San Jose, as well as Arizona and Nevada.
  8. How long does it take to get the ashes back?
With rare exception, after all cremation authorization paperwork is received and the responsible medical party has completed their required scope of work, loved ones are returned to the family approximately 5-7 business days later.
  9. How long does it take to get the death certificates back?
As is the case with returning ashes to the family, after all paperwork is completed and the responsible medical party has completed their required scope of work, death certificates are provided to the family approximately 3-4 business days later.
  10. Can a family bring food to the memorial service?
Bravo Family Mortuary is proud to offer a beautiful on-site banquet area with linens, tables and chairs provided and we can accommodate even the largest of groups. While we do have caterers we can recommend, families are more than welcome to bring food and/or beverages to the memorial service. We provide free coffee, tea and water, as well as usage of the refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Please inquire with a Bravo Family Mortuary representative as to the additional cost for use of our banquet area.
  11. Do you have clergy you recommend?
Yes. Bravo Family Mortuary has myriad officiants of virtually every religion or no religion we can recommend. From Rabbis and Priests to Imams and Non-Religious Officiants, we are happy to secure the right person to oversee your service.
