UPCOMING EVENTS FOR THE SAN DIEGO MEMORIAL SOCIETY
Our Annual Membership Meeting will be April 27, 2024 at 10 am
This year, we will meet in person and also via Zoom. Please mark your calendars for this important annual meeting.
We will be hosting a terrific speaker, John Tastad from Sharp HealthCare, who will speak on bioethics and healthcare decision-making.
John Tastad, MA is the coordinator for Spiritual Support Services at Sharp HospiceCare, and the coordinator for the Advance Care Planning program at Sharp HealthCare. Now in his 23nd year at Sharp, John’s academic training includes undergraduate studies at Bushnell University and graduate studies at Fuller Theological Seminary and the University of San Diego. John is past chair of the San Diego Coalition for Compassionate Care and is actively involved in Bioethics at Sharp and in the community. John has spoken on topics related to Bioethics, Spiritual Care and Advance Care Planning for many national, state and local academic institutions and organizations. John runs and reads a lot, and he is the proud dad of three amazing men and a beautiful four-year-old grandson.

The Previous Annual Meeting was held on April 22, 2023
Our speaker was Dr. Faye Girsh. She gave us a delightful overview of the choices one has for a peaceful death. It was very interesting and discussed many options available and how far we still need to go to have more.
