Dana Kuhn has been a construction estimator, project manager, real estate analyst, commercial real estate appraiser, market study editor, and high school and college instructor. Obviously, he cannot keep a job. In semi-retirement now, he writes obituaries and memorial-service programs. As a youth, Dana’s reading material of choice was the newspaper. He went on to get a journalism degree from UC Berkeley and, in his 40s, a master’s degree in education from San Diego State. He combines those with a long-time interest in obituaries to revitalize the genre. He teaches people how to break the formulaic mold by using an engaging lead and putting the essence of an individual ahead of dates and places. Dana has been married for longer than he can remember and has lived in City Heights for almost as long.
