When you are a member of the San Diego Memorial Society you are covered while traveling within the United States. That is because the San Diego Memorial Society is a member of the Funeral Consumers Alliance.
The goal of Funeral Consumers Alliance is to ensure consumers are fully prepared and protected when planning a funeral for themselves or their loved ones.
Transport Body or Send Back the Cremains?
The least expensive option, if you are traveling and death occurs, is to have the body cremated locally, rather than a having a body transfer by plane. Then have the cremains shipped back to a family member or mortuary. This saves the huge price of body transfer from one state to another or from overseas.
